A Look At Potential Penguins Lines
With the signings of then RFA's Brandon Sutter and newly acquired forward Nick Spaling, it seems that the Penguins are done with free agency and have the team that they want going into the 2014-15 season. Could they make a late push for someone, one more depth addition before the preseason begins? Of course they could, but with such a slim budget remaining, it's safe to say that we must start getting used to this Penguins squad.
So, in a very short post, I will assemble my lines, or at least the ones that I would like to see with this Penguins squad that will be looking to rebound from yet another disappointing playoff performance:
Forwards
Chris Kunitz-Sidney Crosby-Pascal Dupuis
Patric Hornqvist-Evgeni Malkin-Beau Bennett
Nick Spaling-Brandon Sutter-Blake Comeau
Steve Downie-Marcel Goc-Craig Adams
Defensemen
Kris Letang-Olli Maatta
Christian Ehrhoff-Paul Martin
Simon Despres-Rob Scuderi
Goaltender
Marc-Andre Fleury
With this Penguins squad, there is grit and talent throughout the four lines, although, there is the more than likely possibility that these lines will change several times over due to the injury prone Pittsburgh team. Down in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, several prospects will get better looks and others will return including Jayson Megna, Philip Samuelsson, Adam Payerl, Brian Dumoulin, and my personal favorite resigning this offseason, Zach Sill.
What do you think of these lines? Who belongs where or doesn't even belong to begin with? Leave a comment below and let me know what you guys think. Lets go Pens!
