Fantasy Hockey Team #2
canadensis Malsby
First off, yes, I combined Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby's last names to come up with my team name. Kind of sounds like an old-school film noir character though, doesn't it? Malsby. Malsby. I can see it...
I digress. Tonight (10/1/14), I took part in my second fantasy hockey draft in as many nights. This year's squad is young and filled with budding talent with some veteran presence as well. They are a fast, physical team that will have a ton of time on both the power play and shorthanded lines for their respective teams. I'm a bit shaky in net however, and that worries me as of right now, but with my defensive depth, I believe I will be able to sway a trade in some sort or fashion if need be.
Without further adieu, I present this year's Canadensis Malsby fantasy hockey team:
Starters
F- Tyler Seguin DAL
F- Logan Couture SJ
F- Patrice Bergeron BOS
F- Milan Lucic BOS
F- Jakub Voracek PHI
F- Ryan Johansen CLB
F- Jason Pominville MIN
F- Brad Marchand BOS
F- Andrew Ladd WPG
UTIL- Joffrey Lupul TOR
D- Erik Karlsson OTT
D- Kris Letang PIT
D- Ryan Suter MIN
D- Brent Seabrook CHI
D- Alex Goligoski DAL
G- Corey Crawford CHI
G- Jonathan Bernier TOR
Bench
F- Bobby Ryan OTT
F- Brayden Schenn PHI
F- Cam Atkinson CLB
F- Mikkel Boedker ARI
D- Brian Campbell FLA
My defensive core is as good as it's going to get. Forward wise, I believe the talent will speak for itself and Tyler Seguin will become a bonafide superstar this season, Ryan Johansen on a similar route. My Boston trio will provide plenty of points, but penalty minutes as well, a valuable stat in this league.
Last thoughts on my team are simple. They will be contenders and to be a champion, it will all depend on my two between the pipes. I'm feeling pretty good about this team, but not as confident as my other team.
