Watching Monday Night Raw, Main Event, Friday Night Smackdown, or any other product the WWE produces and knowing The Shield will be on, you can't help but get excited.
Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose make up the black clad trio that have been running rough shod over the WWE for over a year now. This dominant, dynamic group had broken into the big show loosely associating themselves with Paul Heyman and then WWE Champion, CM Punk. Over the months and memorable battles with the likes of Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, John Cena, Kane and most recently, The Wyatt Family, the Shield have proven to be a force that cannot be stopped.
By anyone outside of themselves that is.
Earlier in 2014, we were led to believe the Shield would disband and that Roman Reigns would begin his much anticipated single's run, with Ambrose and Rollins creating the heel tag team. After their epic confrontation at the Elimination Chamber with the Wyatt Family, the Hounds of Justice found new injustices that needed to be taken care of, starting with the Authority.
One must ask though, when the Shield break up, what will their legacy be? And will they survive on their own?
The answers are simple. Their legacy will be one that won't be forgotten for a very, very long time. From day one, the Shield were main eventers. They dominated at Extreme Rules in 2013, capturing the United States title (Ambrose) and the Tag Team Championships (Rollins, Reigns). Roman Reigns single-handedly won the Survivor Series match for his team, tying a record of four eliminations and then breaking Kane's 13 year record for most eliminations in the Royal Rumble with 12 men sent over the top rope.
They are not arguably the greatest faction in the past five, even 10 years, they are the greatest faction in that time span. Looking at their most recent performances and crowd reactions, the Shield are going to be around for a long time after the trio eventually splits and they will be the faces of the WWE.
Believe that, and Believe in the Shield.
